ZFlip6 Warranty Experiences? All stores out of parts in major city (Toronto)
Hey folks,
Pre-order mint green Galaxy Z Flip 6 has been acting up for the past few weeks, about 3 weeks ago the phone started getting horizontal purple/pink lines when folded as an L and the phone would no longer be responsive and self-reboot. Was using the phone as a slab until I had time to bring it in, but now more recently the phone started lagging to touches, after discussing with Samsung Chat support a soft reboot/reset temporarily fixed the issue... however a day later the inner screen ( main big screen) no longer turns on at all. The cover screen still works.
No drops, no water, in a case, etc.
Looking through this subreddit, this seems to be a common issue. I am still under warranty and also have Samsung Care+
Samsung chat told me to call Samsung Care, Samsung Care told me to call Warranty, Warranty said I could take this into either Mobile Klinik or a Samsung Store. The Yorkdale Samsung Experience store is out of parts, also tried the only Samsung Service Store in the Greater Toronto area in Heartland which is also out of stock of Flip6 parts with no ETA on parts. As a result they wont accept the phone.
The service store now suggested calling for door2door(which afaik they pick up your phone) repair, which I suspect I'll be given a similar run around with delay in parts. There is also a ubreakifixit store near me, but unclear if Samsung Canada has the same contract with ubreakitifixit here in Canada, as chat support did not provide it as a recommendation.
Just curious what anyone elses experiences with warranty has been so far, this appears to either be a screen/digitizer issue or flex ribbon issue related to a defect.
