Rough/General timeline for joining (London, UK)

To cut a long story short, I've been incredibly interested in joining freemasonry for many years and I believe that I am finally at a point in my life where it's a commitment that I'm ready to make.

I'm curious regarding the timeline from submitting my interest on the UGLE website, to being contacted and finally (hopefully) being invited to join and stepping inside. I appreciate that this is probably a 'how long is a piece of string' question in that timeframes could vary, however I'd appreciate any info on the general process and what to expect. Also, my apologies if this post is inappropriate.
