Woody oud review

TLDR; very good clone of Tom ford Oud Wood. Very masculine, smells like the name implies, decently versatile, just not a “fun time” fragrance. Good performance. 8/10

Woody oud is part of maison Alhambra’s collection of Tom ford clones, this one being a clone of oud wood. The presentation is fine, it is obviously inspired by the original from Tom ford, but it won’t fool any one into thinking you have the OG.

I typically don’t care for how accurate a clone is to the OG, as long as it’s a good product, however, to me, this is so shockingly close to the OG, I have to give it props. They didn’t try to put a twist or anything, they made it as close as possible while keeping a good price. If you like or wanted oud wood, this is pretty much that for a fraction of the cost.

Now to the actual scent, this is basically like burning wood incense, it’s so masculine that if a woman puts this on she might grow a peen. It smells just like its name sounds, woody oud. I am biased because I lived in a household where there was always a bukhoor or oud incense in the air, so I really like this smell but obviously if smelling like damn near charcoal isn’t your thing, then skip it.

This is probably wearable at all times except for summer and spring daytime. Obviously not beach wear and I wouldn’t personally wear it to a date or a beach. Maybe in a formal setting or at a house.

Last thing, the performance. Woody / oud centric fragrances tend to last better, and this one is no exception. I would say 8-9 hours on clothes, a little less on skin. Also has decent projection. Anyone you’re having a conversation or are in close proximity to will smell it.

This is a long review so I will keep this short. It’s pretty accurate to the OG and to its name, if it sounds like something you would like, you probably will. Overall an 8/10 fragrance.
