Still coach even though I resigned, game wont progress

Hey I started a journeyman unemployed career with the Young Reds in Belgium and after 1 year there I left and became an international manager for Vietnam. However the game is stuck at a team selection screen for the Young Reds I used to coach and saying in news stories that I am preparing to coach my first game as their manager (again not there anymore). I thought it a small bug and selected a team to try to progress but a popup says I havent picked a goalie even though the team is fully selected and will not progress further. Has anyone else had this happen and what do I need to do.
