Similar to how foobar can play just the audio of .mkv and .mp4 files, can it also import and play .avi files?

avi drag and drop into the interface doesn't import

not sure if it's a plugin to install or if this is possible without a filetype conversion.

i tried the top search results but didn't see anything that worked
