Can you change your chocobo’s colour using the apartment stables?

I’m wanting to change my chocobo’s colour, but I can’t feed it at all! I can train it just fine, but whenever I click feed it says I have no chocobo feed available despite having like 5 different fruits in my inventory.

Is chocobo colouring limited to just FC/house stables?
