Anyone remember DOGE talking about offering 2 years of severance?
Just been thinking about this recently because I remember hearing about this last year. I originally thought "that's not how severance works in the goverment" and that they'd realize that would be the opposite of reducing the deficit and rethink. Present day situation confirms the obvious, that they were lying.
Had to Google it to make sure I wasn't crazy. Forgot about him saying they weren't going to be cruel...
"...suggested at a town hall in October that he would consider giving laid-off workers "very long severances" that could amount to two years' pay, saying at the time that "the point is not to be cruel or to have people not be able to pay their mortgage or anything.""
