Why does today’s clothing quality suck? And what brands would you recommend?
I’m feeling really frustrated about the state of my closet right now. To be clear, I try to be conscious about where I’m spending my money. 98% of my closet comes from "sustainable" and "ethical" brands. But STILL I’m finding that clothing is not lasting. Most of these clothes are priced well above $100 but I’m still finding loose threads, poor craftsmanship and bad materials.
For instance, I have a white tank from the Line by K that retails for $75 and it is completely stretched out. I’ve worn it around ten times and followed all the wash instructions but it’s so stretched that one of my boobs falls out of it. My reformation pants have so many loose threads. Aritzia is super hit or miss.
Moving forward instead of just feeding into a brand’s ethos, I’m going through the material composition with a fine tooth comb. What are the brands that are reasonably priced but have amazing quality?
