Am I getting punk’d? Is this joke? Spark Of The Everflame
I’m feeling so gaslight. This series was so recommended… but I just… you guys.
I’m convinced the author made a bet with her friends that she was going to make the world’s most insufferable, unlikable, and frustrating main character just to see what we would do.
I’ve been doing my best to not hate on sassy FMC and at least try to give them a chance, to see where they are coming from, and if the book is good to see it through: I even ended up liking quicksilver.
But I SWEAR Diem is a social experiment to see how far we can take it.
I’ve made it to book 3 and I think I’ll rage finish it.
There is no growth. There is no introspection. Luther’s die for you monologues are loosing their appeal because diem is so unworthy of them. It’s making him come across as a simp. He literally would skin himself alive and she’s not sure if she’s ready for cOmItMeNt.
Her mother has the appeal of Satan’s ballsack, and honestly the way she keeps letting her mom treat Luther, so does Diem.
Like mother like daughter, but in the most hellish way possible.
I’m not sure how much I can take of the same exact extended plot of traveling to another ream, getting caught, diem getting more powerful, Luther getting more growly, diem not killing people who DESERVE to die (even if killing then saves lives) they somehow escape with Diems self righteous honor of playing both sides intact, only to do the exact same thing like 6 more times.
Taran and Zalaric were the only interesting part so far and they haven’t been mentioned in hundreds of pages.
I just needed to rage. Thank you for understanding, because my husband sure doesn’t 😂
