My account has been hacked, but I used my preferred name instead of my legal name. Can I get my account back?

This morning I realized that my account as been hacked. So I did what everyone else would do by first changing the pw. But, this hacker guy set up the 2FA code which I never did and never had access to. Now I cannot go past that. So I did send FB my photo ID to them but I realized that the name that I used for FB is not my legal name ( I didn't use my legal name because everyone calls me by my FB name and my legal name is hard to pronounce).

Does this mean I cannot go anywhere from here? I really wish there was a way to speak with an agent but I know FB doesn't care about ordinary users so they don't.

I wonder if anyone has any advice for me? Thanks
