Child Neglect

I recently learned of a TBM family where the husband watches their 7 month old while he works from home (1-2 days a week when the wife is at her job)

In talking to them about it they said “Yeah…sometimes he (the baby) cries and I just can’t stop work to get him, probably not the best thing to do having me watch him on those days”

From what I understand they have family support, I assume this is just coming from a place of wanting to be super dad/wanting to save money. Will likely soon go away as baby starts crawling.

I think I also had a much more Laissez faire attitude toward this type of thing while a TBM.

What stories have you heard and how do you think Mormonism affects attitudes and behaviors toward neglect or at least minimal parenting?
