Rusty's Temples by the numbers

I was inspired to run the numbers on Russell M Nelson's temple announcements

Of the 367 temples announced by the church since St George Utah was announced in 1871

• 83% were announced in the last 20 years
• Slightly more than 50% were announced by Russell M Nelson (Monson announced 12% and Hinckley announced 21%)
• 190 temples are currently in operation, this is a 19% increase since Nelson became president of the church
• Half of the increase in operational temples during Nelson's tenure are temples announced by Monson but not completed before his passing

Of the 185 temples announced by Russell M Nelson in his almost 7 year tenure as president

• 19 temples (10% of those announced) are completed and operational
• 27% are under construction or completed and waiting for dedication
• 63% have not begun construction
• During Monson's 10 year tenure as president 51% of the 45 temples he announced were completed and operational

Of the 116 temples announced by Russell M Nelson that have not begun construction

• 54% have no site announced, no designs released and no planning approval in place
