"It's not that they (nonbelievers) don't believe Christianity is true, it's that they don't want it to be true."

I've lost count of how many times I've heard Christians use some variation of this phrase to explain why people do not convert to christianity. And my answer always to this is; yeah, of course I don't want christianity to be true. Nobody wants their beliefs to be proven false. Christians are no exception. They would be upset too if they found out that their belief system was a lie.

Christians all the time think that they absolutely destroyed a debate or won a discussion whenever they drop a line like this. "You just don't want it to be true." Like yeah, no shit. You wouldn't be happy either if let's say for example, you found out that Islam was actually the true religion and not christianity, would you? Nobody wants to be wrong. It's not that deep lol.
