New to EU

I’m new to the EU franchise and with EU5 coming I kinda wanna try to play EU4 to try and see if I wanna become part of the player base. The Paradox game I play the most is HOI4 so I wanna know if there’s anything I should know before starting a campaign in this game. Thank you!
