My current out wide tactic+sub tactic.

I mainly play possession but out wide is one of the play styles I have wanted to try out. After a run of games I can already see the benefits and this is a tactic I used to take advantage of them.

The idea was play in a similar way to the current possession style team’s by having an inverted fullback and wingers holding the width.

With out wide players will find spaces on the sideline’s to pull the opposition out of position. The idea behind this formation is to have multiple passing options whilst playing out from the back. The CMF’s are usually high and slightly wider giving you forward passing options. So you can play through high pressure with ease.

In attack the amount of space you have compared to possession game is crazy. CMF’s support the AMF and winger’s. The your CF is always making runs to open gaps for them. With possession game all the players are close together so you need to move the ball quickly to create space for the runs to happen.

The individual instruction’s I use are. Locatelli: defensive. Guerreiro: defensive + deep line. So when defending it is a 433.

Same instructions on the sub tactic. I mainly use it to defend 442 against opponents who play wide or with a lot of midfielders.
