Era appropriate cymbals - NL 1950s/1960s
Hi all
For my work at Beeld & Geluid (the National audiovisual archive of the Netherlands) I am busy building a fully Dutch music studio I.e. everything in the studio is of Dutch origin.
Buuuuuttt while there are at least 3 Dutch drum makers (Royal, Westend, Adams) cymbals are hard to uncover. Maybe some were made but I haven’t been able to pinpoint any. So I am willing to compromise so long as we have “era appropriate” cymbals - think European cymbal makers that would’ve been more easily accessible or more affordable than zildjian. Think like Ufip or Paistie, what are some other European cymbal makers that would’ve existed in the 50s/60s/ early 70s
And if any Dutchies read this sub and just have more advice in general or are curious I’d love to talk more
