Taash discourse is Sera and Vivienne at DAI launch all over again. People say they want dislikable characters until they see them.

What people want is safe-unlikable. Someone like Morrigan that is kind of bitchy but you can melt her heart.

I don't like Taash either, they're my least favourite companion. But it is good that she is unlikable. God damn, the team is already way too nice. It's good that she's being hypocritical when speaking to Emmrich cause it is at least interesting.

You can say all you like that it's because of how they're implemented or that it is unsuitable for the team to have a younger person in it. But the level of vitriol leads me to doubt that as an explanation.
