Which is better, building a Software project or a Research oriented project for the final year project?

I'm currently in my final semester, and I have 3 choices for the Final Year project : Hardware, Software, Research. I'm not sure what to opt for. The topic are related to Machine Learning, Block Chain and others related to Web 3. So kindly suggest me one thing along with proper reason.

PS: Whatever I choose, I should start learning that and implement it.
