New Job asked me to install tracker on laptop and it is exhausting me.
I have been working with this company for a few months now, First i joined as a part time employee from july, so they asked me to install a tracker called WebWork. I did that because i thought for part-time job people may track time, now from October this company onboarded me Full-time giving almost 100% hike from my previous job (My compensation is still under 10 LPA). Now the tracker is running for full time job also, this tracker stops time if there is even 5 minutes of idle time. So initially i did not bothered about it because there was not a lot of idle time, but a month ago i was busy in some personal work and the tracker was idle for almost 2-3 hours everyday for 3 days. Now my manager asked me about the idle time and i avoided the thing by saying some laptop issue and firewall blocking the tracker. And since he is not someone from tech background said try to fix the issue. After that day i have been sitting for 8 hours and the idle time has been dropped to around 10-15 minutes a day. But this has led me to use another method to keep the tracker running, i ask my brother or mother to keep clicking so that the tracker doesn't stop.
Today when i went on the webwork dashboard to see the insights and total tracked hours and saw my desktop screenshots, they were not visible before today and when i saw some today, i saw the screen is constant multiple times when i just keep clicking a spot when i want to avoid tracker from stopping.
So this is wrong, i am not getting any notification if the screenshot is being taken, what if i have some personal data open, it will be a violation of privacy. Secondly, since i am meeting all deadlines on time and work is getting done with deployment everyday to see the proof of work then why is there a need for a tracker. When asked about need for tracker then i was told it was just to maintain time logs for payments.
This is just wrong and exhausting. My previous employer never asked me to install any tracker or give any type of detail for the hours. So all of this is kind of micromanagement stuff and I don't know what to do.
