Anyone ever used a courier service to send a boxed phone to someone domestically?

A friend bought me a phone from USA, he’s in a different city in India. He wants to courier it since I’ll not be travelling anywhere anytime soon. Is it safe to use a courier service to ship a phone domestically? If yes, which courier service would you recommend?
