Double Sided Tape?

I bought some Remo One double sided apartment tape to hang photos. I cannot figure out a good way to cut it into small pieces, it’s driving me insane.

I have been cutting it with scissors but it’s so sticky and thick it’s so annoying.

Do you have any ideas?! It’s the thing taking the longest to hang my gallery wall.
