Are any copywriters struggling to find work in this market?

I was laid off nine months pregnant from my copywriting role and I wasn’t worrying because I am usually actively recruited and have landed jobs pretty easy. But I am finding it really challenging this time around to not only land but to get an interview. I’m seeing over 500 applicants on each job posting.

I keep getting either ghosted by recruiters or them telling me that I need ultra specific experience. Even for junior positions and I’ve been doing this for ten years!!

I feel like a good copywriter can be versatile and write copy for any industry.

Is anyone experiencing a shift?
