Newsstand marking?

Hey y'all,

I bought this newsstand copy of Cap 230 and it has this orange marking on the top left. Curious if anyone knows if this was a typical marking for newsstand copies (for example, if copies didn't sell or for some other reason) or if this was just a kid scribbling?
