Why do people say civil engineers are underpaid???
Based on Indeed and BLS, Civil engineers make only like a few thousands dollar less then mechanical or electrical and that's probably because there's more jobs in low col areas.
BLS says that mechanical median pay is 99k, electrical is 109k and civil is 96k which is not a huge difference, Same on Indeed.
I have also looked at past data all the way to 2017 and 2019 and the difference is pretty much the same.
I'm a civil eng student and when I go on Reddit my blood boils and I feel like I'm gonna make no money even though statistics say the difference is very minimal.
Does anyone have any thoughts on that??
