50th bday celebration, 2-3 nights in April, flying out of NYC. Bahamas? Somewhere else?

I'm working on putting together a weekend trip for my husband, who's turning 50. We'll be traveling end of April. I'd love any ideas on locations + accommodations for us. Direct flight <5 hours is a must.

I was thinking maybe Bahamas--we aren't beach vacation types usually, but this is so short that it might be perfect?

I'd be grateful for any suggestions!
