UK hobby chef - first Japanese knife purchased - how to protect it?
Hi all, I submitted a post about a week ago about what knife to get and got some great feedback and eventually settled on a Takamura VG10 gyuto. I did my research so I'll be getting a Shapton pro 1k whetstone as well, seems to be one of the go to stones for beginners.
I'm wondering about what to get to protect the blade while storing it. Having it out on the counter or in a block/magnetic strip is a no go, so I'm thinking of keeping it in its box on a shelf with a plastic blade cover. Is this a good idea?
