Weibo night 2025

I didn’t want to write anything negative about Weibo Night because, truthfully, I adore all the actors and actresses. I also understand that their outfits are chosen by their teams, and they often don’t have much say in the matter. This post is all in good fun and not meant to reflect on their acting skills or personalities in any way. 😊

I usually look forward to Chinese award nights because they embrace fashion so boldly. There’s such variety in men’s clothing and accessories, and I love how these events push the boundaries of what’s fashionable and fantastic. Even when there’s a fashion faux pas, it’s still an effort to break away from the usual tuxedos for men and ethereal gowns for women.

That said, my loves, I have to admit I’m a bit disappointed this time.

However, Weibo Night 2025 felt really underwhelming. It seemed like the memo this year was to play it as plain and bland as possible. Sadly, I didn’t find any standout looks that truly captured the magic.

The pre-night photoshoots were absolutely breathtaking—those gave me the glamour I was hoping for!

Can't deny they still look good tho.

Although the face cards are undeniably strong this year, I can’t hold back—I have a few things to say. Sorry in advance.

Li Yun Rui: Honestly, I have nothing to say about your outfit. The only saving grace is your handsome smile. Keep doing what you’re doing, and we’ll let this slide.

Zeng Shunxi: Sigh. My grandpa wouldn’t even want to wear this suit. Fashion hasn’t quite made its full-circle comeback to grandpa suits yet.

Bai Lu: Baby, you can do no wrong. Everything you wear is flawless. No complaints. Truly femme fatale energy!

Cheng Zheyuan: That little golden pocket detail isn’t going to save this outfit. It’s shapeless and plain. And going shirtless doesn’t really change that. Wait—actually, maybe it does a little. I’ll give you some points for effort.

Cheng Lei: You look good, but it’s still too plain for you. This isn’t just some random Sunday brunch—bring the flair!

Wang Xingyue: Kiddo, you were shining so much brighter during the Tencent night.

Liu Yuning and Wang Hedi: Did you two coordinate your outfits without realizing it? You’re all in black—but it’s missing a pop of color. Take risks next time!

Luo Yunxi: Oh, my poor fabulous dancer. I know about your eyes, so you’re excused this time. Rest up and feel better soon. Sending love. 💕

Wang Yibo: I was eagerly waiting for your look, but… that is not it. I do love the inside of your vest, though. Could you flip it and wear it reversed next time?

Yang Zi: Thank you, gorgeous! You’re an absolute delight, unafraid to shine—and it shows. Even if your hanfu isn’t the prettiest one, you dared to stand out, and I admire that! Now, could you give Li Xian a little nudge so he can coordinate with you better?

Please, can we bring back the capes, the hanfu, the ~~~ DRAMA~~~! Where’s the flair, the extravagance, the bold risks we all love?

All of that written by me, sitting in my all-black comfy ensemble, daring to critique outfits I could never pull off myself. 😅

The hypocrisy is sky-high, but hey, admiring drama and flair from a distance is my comfort zone. Let me live vicariously through their bold choices (or lack thereof)! 😄
