Elevated feeding spots for older cat

I'll be moving to a smaller apartment soon together with my dog & cat. I free feed my cat dry and give him a packet of wet every day, as he's getting along in age and won't really eat on a schedule. In the past I had the cat's feeding station on a different floor of the house that the dog couldn't access, but I won't have that option anymore to keep the dog out of the cat's food bowl. I'm looking for a solution to place the feeding station out of reach of the dog, that won't occupy too much space in my new house.

  • My cat is quite old and has the beginnings of arthritis, so it should be easy for him to access without big jumps or difficult climbs.
  • my dog is quite tall, he can justabout reach anything left on the kitchen counter
  • I have very limited space but the freedom to construct things, drill the walls, etc, and am very willing to DYI something
