Lifetime of "I'll never own a cat" to cat toy spending spree
I was never fond of cats. I grew up with dogs and considered, and I'm sorry to say this, cat owners weird boring people for wanting such a pointless pet.
Dogs, they show unlimited affection, are obedient, can play fetch, and can serve & protect their owners. I guess it's the utilitarian in me but dogs to me clearly served a purpose.
It wasn't until I discovered a litter of kittens crying at night in a hollowed out tree near my bedroom window that I realized how wrong I was.
I didn't like cats but I'm also not an animal hater. I did my research, consulted with a vet, waited for mama to come around and ultimately found myself caring for 4 orphaned kittens.
These little sh*ts are such a pain in my behind but I fell in love with them. It's amazing how different their personalities are and how affectionate and lovely they really are!
So to the cat community, my sincerest apologies for being an arrogant close minded fool. I know better now!
