I’m 20, Studying Computer Science, and Still Don’t Have a Dream Job. Is That a Problem?

Hey everyone,

I’m currently 20 years old, studying Computer Science in the UK, but I don’t have a specific dream job. My family owns four real estate offices, and I plan to help grow and modernize the business rather than work a typical 9-to-5.

I sometimes wonder if Business or Finance would have been a better choice for real estate, but I also believe CS could bring unique advantages in digital transformation, automation, and online marketing.

My main concerns:

Is it normal to not have a clear career path at 20?

How can a CS degree be valuable in the real estate industry?

Would Business or Finance have been a better degree choice?

What are some tech skills that could give me an edge in real estate?

Would love to hear from people who’ve been in a similar situation or have experience in either real estate, tech, or business.

Thanks in advance for your advice!
