Shooting sports with the M50?

I’m thinking about starting a side hustle and building a brand revolving around taking photos and videos of sporting events and making edits out of my shots. Has anyone here attempted shooting something like basketball or football with the 15-45 mm kit lens and if so, how did it go? I understand the camera and lens isn’t the most optimal for sports but I’d rather first figure out if this is something I want to pursue seriously using a camera I already own before investing in something grander.
