Newbie need help understanding monitor stats such as refresh rate, size, and resolution
Hello all. So I just need some info from anyone willing to throw their two cents in. I understand as, with anything in life, it depends on the applications and use I'm going for. This is strictly monitor inquiries currently as I'm still a ways away from building my setup but am looking to keep eyes out on deals worth buying sooner..
So basically my usage will primarily be gaming focused, casual player with potential for streaming but definitely want to be able to work on editing (that's more internal hardware related tho I presume). The games I'm going to be playing will be pretty much RTS based (Starcraft, Total War Series, etc) I do my FPS like Halo, my RPG Souls games on console and would only see those on my monitor for editing purposes.
From research I'm pretty set on the ideal most common size of 27". My main concern is now with the refresh rate. I found this nice monitor on bestbuy with this link https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-t55-series-27-led-1000r-curved-fhd-freesync-monitor-displayport-hdmi-vga/6402202.p?skuId=6402202 (I'm new and naive but optimistic hence I'm saying this is a nice monitor but in reality I have no idea lol). It's got over 1700 reviews with an average 4.6 stars and set at $289 rn without any discounts. If it's not too much to ask, someone with experience take a quick glance at the full specs just so I at least get a gauge of the types of specs to look for in other monitors given my above mentioned playing behavior.
ALSO I've never had a PC set up ever so going into this I'm sure I'll appreciate anything since it'll be a great experience from nothing BUT that doesn't mean I want to settle for the cheapest bare bones stuff. I'd look to hang around in the mid tier category and only splurge on the essential stuff where quality really is important like certain internal hardware pieces. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and provide any insight even if it's just a sentence or two!
