Were Jesse's parents fair with him in your opinion?

Rewatching it after 6 years. And now I'm noticing how much they tried to make things work with him but he just kept running back to drugs or bad company. I've seen some fans hate his parents because they kicked him out their house and later from his aunt's house. But that didn't happen out of nowhere. They tried alot with Jesse. And like Jesse's Lil brother said. "Oh you think I'm the favorite?"
