Breaking Bad and Sopranos are two completely different shows

I don’t like it when people compare the two and say, if you like one, you’ll probably like the other. They’re two different shows. If you think they’re comparable, it seems like you just think “Oh they’re both good shows. Therefore they’re the same.”

BB is extremely action-driven. Walt’s a dying man who sells drugs so he can leave money for his family. While Tony is a mob boss dealing with panic attacks, and it’s a much slower show.

Obviously, Sopranos can get very violent at times, but it’s a show more about the moments rather than the action. Ask most fans and they’ll tell you their favorite scenes are the more ordinary moments where two characters are just bantering — Tony and Bobby at the diner talking about Quasimodo, Chris asking if Gary Cooper was gay, Paulie surviving off ketchup packets, Tony provoking Janice when she’s trying to manage her anger, etc. Compared to intense scenes in BB— Hank almost finding Walt in the RV, or the train heist, or Walt coming home to find all his money gone right after Gus threatens to kill his family.
