Ep. 124, Ichigo mentions something I don't remember

While Ichigo is training with the Visoreds and is battling inside himself with his internal hollow, Kariya appears and starts yapping about doubt in his heart or whatever. Then Ichigo ends up in the training chamber where he learned Bankai with Yoruichi. Ichigo says, "Wait, Zangetsu isn't here, he lives within me, I almost forgot".

I have no idea what he's talking about, and actually I don't know how Ichigo completed his Bankai training in the first place. I went back a skimmed through episodes 40-60, and I realized that it never shows the conclusion of his Bankai training. He's supposed to learn Bankai in 3 days, well a little less once Rukia's execution is moved up. The point was there was a bunch of fake Zangetsu swords everywhere which were actually Ichigo's weaknesses. But the last time they show him trainig is when Renji is declaring he will save Rukia because he promised it to himself, and Ichigo while training is saying the same thing. Later, Ichigo shows up and uses his Bankai on Byakuya. I kept expecting a flashback to show how he got his Bankai, but nothing.

Did i skip something?
