Lowrider front rack for a long tour?

I'm starting a long (>1 year) tour in March and need some help with the front rack. I wanted to go with the tubus grand expedition but it doesn't fit my bike. The surly nice rack would fit but i'm worried about how big and heavy it is. Should I just go with tubus taras?

My thinking for the surly/ grand expedition was to have high and lowrider options. We'll mostly be on roads and bike paths, but through the stans expect to have some more off-road situations. Nothing too crazy though. Will lowriders be ok for this? Thank you for your help!
