New betta fish

Thinking about getting a betta fish in the next few weeks. I’ve only had a male before, so I’m considering a female this time. Any recommendations for the best type for a 5-gallon planted tank? Want something that was ethically bread if possible I am currently cycling my aquarium and will test the water before introducing it to my aquarium
