Went back to drug store shampoo/conditioner and not looking back
For the past 4-5 years I have been buying "salon quality" shampoo and conditioner. Either from Winners or from Sephora. These bottles cost roughly $30 - $40 each.
After a trip to Sephora at the end of November, and not being able to find much selection, and being overwhelmed with the amount of people in the store, I left with bottles of Bondi Boost Heavenly Hydration. Thought it would be good for the winter, when my hair gets more dry and frizzy.
It was a disaster. My hair was stringy and greasy. I should not be washing my hair in the evening, waking up the next day, and need to use dry shampoo.
Before this one, I was buying Briogeo's Don't Despair Repair shampoo/conditioner, but I wanted to switch it up, cause it was expensive, and I didn't feel like it was amazing. Bondi Boost was slightly less money.
After coming on here and searching "Shampoo", I came upon a thread where people were saying that they love Dove's Intensive Repair. Went to the drug store (after visiting Sephora, and being able to return the stuff that was shit and getting a store credit), and saw the large bottles were on sale for $7.99 each.
Used it that night and woke up to soft, fluffy hair that actually looked clean.
I was looking back on some old photos of me when I was 19-21, and my hair looked shiny with perfect waves. I was trying to remember what my routine was, and I think I used mainly Pantene's Ice Shine, and the Dove shampoo. Perhaps some Got-To-Be mousse.
So yeah. Screw this expensive shit. Back to what was working before I got convinced that I needed fancy stuff when I got Adult Money.
