Does anyone else get really anxious when a controversial public figure announces they're "autistic"?
Dream just claimed to be autistic after calling a group of people the r slur, which is already a bit of a pathetic move, but every time I find out a large public figure (most of the time they're right wing/creepy/have done horrible stuff) "come out" as autistic it makes me feel so sick.
I instantly assume that it's going to be used to aid with faking autism crap on tiktok, the influx of autistic people being compared to narcissists or worse. Sometimes it can be great (Jacksepticeye for example) but as soon as it's someone controversial, especially at the height of a drama or used to deflect, I feel so unwell.
The only thing worse is people that try to diagnose youtubers to dismiss their controversies (I think I saw someone doing it with wilbursoot after he got outed as an abuser, this seem to be mostly prevalent with male youtubers),
