What did you wish you had learned?

I’m potentially going to have to opportunity to teach audio engineering at a 2 year school and was just curious what things people wish they had known before going into this field. What do you think is the best use of the limited time in this course?

I should also include that there is a separate live sound and acoustics class which I may also be teaching.
