(No Spoilers) My ideas for Targaryen/Dragonstone Bastard surnames

Before you grill me in the comments, yes I know Dragonstone is technically part of the Crownlands. But for much of the War of the Five Kings it kinda acts as its own thing, and I always sorta saw it as the native "Targaryen Kingdom". For the sake of this post I'll consider it as a separate entity.

Anyways, here are a few ideas I came up with for Targaryen/Dragonstone bastard surnames:

-Scales

Rationale: A direct reference to dragons, Scales evokes the reptilian, dragon-like quality of Targaryens, emphasizing their connection to dragons without being as grandiose as “Dragon” itself.

Example: Mira Scales

-Serpent

Rationale: While dragons are the most prominent symbol of House Targaryen, Serpent evokes a more subtle, dangerous creature—still formidable but often seen as “lesser” compared to the grandeur of a dragon. The snake’s connection to fire and the ancient, mythical nature of serpents could tie well to the Targaryen legacy.

Example: Rhaegor Serpent

-Basalt

Rationale: This ties directly to Dragonstone’s volcanic origins, implying a connection to the land itself. Basalt, being the rock formed by the cooling of lava, gives an impression of strength and permanence, but in the context of a bastard, it would symbolize something raw and powerful, yet still distinct from the full royal lineage.

Example: Lyria Basalt

-Ember / Ash

Rationale: Both ideas symbolize the smoldering, lingering remnants of a dragon’s fire. The former speaks to the idea of something still burning but not quite as fierce or consuming as a full blaze, the latter carrying a fragment of the lineage's fiery ancestry but far from a full "Dragon".

Examples: Rhaella Ember, Jorren Ash

Other potential surnames could be: Pyrom, Fyr, Volcan
