Do SG ministers actually have security with them all the time?

I've seen plenty of events whereby even the former PM LHL is just mixing around with regular people and no security personnel in sight.

Or even if they are, isnt the PM way too close with ordinary people?

Is this unique Singapore thing? Like you'd never ever see world leaders like Putin or Biden just mixing around with ordinary folks at some random small event. Everywhere they go in public there's like 30+ security guards, some snipers on a roof nearby and a dozen bulletproof cars with hidden turrets and machineguns or something waiting by the roadside.
