Why are there no notorious serial killers nowadays?

Back in the 60-90's it seemed as if there were so many notorious serial killers compared to today where there are seemingly little to no serial killers. Are there no Dahmers and Kempers today or are they just not getting caught? Wouldn't the advancement of technology and forensics make it easier to find them?
