Former shut-ins or socially withdrawn individuals, what was the turning point that made you decide to make a change?

My 20 year old brother has been socially withdrawing for the past few years, and it’s only getting worse. He refuses to go outside, spends all day playing video games and watching YouTube until he's completely exhausted, and barely interacts with anyone. He has no career goals, and I feel like I just can’t reach him no matter how much I try.

The only time he engages with me is when I bring up things he likes, like anime or video games. I really want to have a deeper conversation with him—something that might help him figure out his goals or what he truly wants in life—but I’m at a loss for how to approach it.

I'm just curious to hear other people's perspectives on how they got through similar situations, hoping it might give me some insight.
