Please read if you have the time, thank you.
Hi, I am aware it’s common that no interviews/research is allowed in this area. I am a third year university student studying Sound Design. I am currently making a prototype of a robotic hand that can emulate sensations like heat, pressure and friction through audio in real time. As well as this, I also want to work on enhancing movement, precision and the ability to do daily tasks more efficiently through personalised audio/visual settings. All I would need is a participant for an interview, for me this isn’t just coursework as I will be talking to many organisations who heavily support amputees to gather further research of what the the end users would require and request. I am genuinely interested in this area and think that a lot of improvement can be made so being an amputee isn’t necessarily something that causes frustration, but something that gives you the chance to have more dexterity, strength and control than the average human whilst also regaining necessary sensations that have been lost.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
