Visiting someone with “a cold”

Would you have a visit at a public place/museum/gallery/etc with someone with a “cold”? As many are I’m sure dealing with, trying to balance holiday time and precautions has been difficult this year.

We are supposed to see a relative who I’ve heard now has a “cold”. Idk how long they’ve been sick or if they’ve tested for Covid. My husband says it wouldn’t change our precautions (masks on the whole time) so he is okay with it. My view is that they were recently on an airplane so that ups the chances for me that it’s Covid (or one of the other yucky things out there like rsv etc) and I’m not sure I want to go anymore.

Any advice? Husband says we likely interact with other sick people when out places. My argument is I don’t interact with them for a full hour+ as it’s mainly brief interactions.
