Is it worth visiting WV mid March?

Me and 4 other guys are looking to get a cabin near Dolly Sods and Blackwater Falls, but we're not sure if hiking or fishing would be enjoyable during mid March, particularly with there likely being no leaves on the trees. Is it worth visiting these places mid March?
