650 vs 800

After some thought I’m really leaning towards a mid weight adventure. The vstrom 650 seems like a solid choice, good all around bike with proven reliability and can be had at what I consider a reasonable price (even new) the 800’s being newer have less of a used market and seem to be a little pricier. To those that got the 800 over the 650 or had a 650 prior and switched to the 800, what was your reasoning? Also, was it worth the switch or the upgrade and increase in price?
