2020 XC90 infotainment issues. Anyone else?
We’ve owned our 2020 XC90 T5 from new. From the start we always had annoying issues with the Apple CarPlay, mainly with it disconnecting while in use or not connecting at all without multiple tries and reconnections. This mainly becomes a safety issue when I’m using maps and then have to deal with trying to get it to reconnect while driving. The dealer always just did a software update and said that was the issue. I even went as far as buying a new phone thinking the issue was on my end. I was also only using Apple branded cables and tried multiple new ones over the years. Neither fixed the issue. Additionally I bought a Bluetooth wireless connection to see if that would fix the issue but it hasn’t.
About 6 months ago for the 1st time the entire center console as well as dash went out while I was driving. The only thing still working was the speedometer. I was on a busy road and didn’t have the opportunity to stop so just had to keep driving. About 3-5 mins into the drive it all booted back up and worked as normal. I took it into the dealer again for this and once again they just did a software update as they couldn’t recreate the issue.
This again happened while my wife was driving and she said it just rebooted as well for her.
Last weekend was the 3rd time and we were 200 miles away from home. It was all working perfectly and we stopped for gas. Upon starting the car back up it all went out. Nothing worked but the car was drivable. AC was out, infotainment system was completely down as well as the speedometer this time. Again as usual about 5 mins later it all booted back up.
Of course we just passed our 4 year warranty but we’re still under 50k miles. I have another appt booked into the dealer but they can’t see me for a month. Really love the car and it’s close to being paid off and runs perfectly otherwise but starting to worry about keeping it. The car has never once had any damage from accidents or water.
Anyone else have this experience or can offer advice?
