Thoughts on the Marriott Waikiki

I would rather stay somewhere amazing, but the Marriott is the only 4-star hotel near the beach that has reasonable rates. Has anyone stayed here and can recommend? Or should I stay away, and just pay more for the Sheraton or Moana Surfrider?
